All other Dart Cohorts across Alberta are encouraged to provide their information to Darts Alberta to include in the above listings

Please review the following before joining a dart cohort. Also consider reviewing the full COVID-19 Protocols for Safe Return to Darts for Stage 2

Do Your Research and Assess Your Risk

Before joining a mini dart club cohort, research the protocols that have been put in place for that cohort and assess your own personal risk. If the COVID-19 Protocols for Safe Return to Darts for Stage 2 are not being followed, that means Alberta Health Services guidelines are not being followed as the protocols are all based on AHS recommendations.

Some risk factors that should be considered are whether you or anyone else in your household:

  • is over the age of 60
  • is immune compromised
  • has an existing medical condition that makes them more vulnerable should they become infected with COVID-19, or
  • works in an industry that could create a catastrophic outbreak if they became infected and are asymptomatic

Cohort Requirements

  • must have no greater than 50 members, including players, leaders, coaches and volunteers
  • not allow any walk-in participation of individuals not already pre-registered in the cohort
  • not allow a newly registered member to participate ununless they have not participated in any other cohort for at least 14 days

Cohort Member Requirements

When joining a mini dart club cohort, each cohort member is agreeing to:

  • remain within their chosen mini dart club cohort throughout Stage 2
  • not participate in any other sport or performing arts cohort, or compete in any open competition of any sort in the last 14 days
  • electronically submit a Participation and Compliance Agreement in advance in order to register with the cohort (see below for the waiver specific to each cohort)
  • attempt to physically distance and remain 2 metres away from other participants in the cohort wherever possible
  • be completely committed to practicing physical distancing from people outside their family and mini dart club cohort, including all patrons within the competition facility
  • be healthy and not show any COVID-19 symptoms (see the full symptom list), including the completion and electronically submitting a Daily Screening Checklist prior to participating each time (check with leaders to determine the easiest method to submit, handed in, email, text or messenger)
  • stay home if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms
  • not have travelled outside Canada in the last 14 days
  • comply with all AHS recommended hygiene measures including:
    —no sharing of personal equipment
—no handshakes, hugs, high fives, fist bumps, elbow bumps, etc.
—frequent handwashing or use of hand sanitizer
—not using strong scents or perfumes to prevent causing others to sneeze and cough
—not bring any food into the playing area

Cohort Member Recommendations

Mini dart club cohort members are encouraged to:

  • get tested prior to joining a cohort.
  • consider using the ABTraceTogether mobile app to help identify and isolate positive COVID-19 cases. More information is available at https://www.alberta.ca/ab-trace-together.aspx
  • wear masks wherever possible when social distancing cannot be maintained
  • use an identifier on their beverage if it is located within the playing area

Dart Equipment

With the exception of the dartboard, mini dart club cohort members should do everything possible to minimize the sharing of equipment:

  • the playing area will be sanitized before and after use
  • all chalk and brushes will be removed from the playing area until further notice
  • each participant should arrive with all of your own supplies, including darts, extra flights, extra shafts, chalker, chalk, and chalk brush (mark your name on it) or your own personal cloth to erase the board (some competition venues have chosen to provide disposable paper towels, please use once and discard safely)
  • wherever possible, share extra supplies only with someone within your personal family cohort
  • each player is to remove their own dart when bulling up
  • each player must mark their own scores without the use of a scorekeeper
  • each competitor should minimize contact with the dartboard
  • should a dart board need to be straightened or rotated, the person doing so should wash their hands or use hand sanitizer prior to touching the dart board and after touching the dart board
