Team Alberta Commitment Fee Increase

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR POTENTIAL TEAM ALBERTA YOUTH AND ADULT MEMBERS:

It is important that all Darts Alberta members are aware that the proceeds from the AGLC casino helps pay a large portion of the costs to send the youth and adult teams. The cost to send the youth and adult teams are ever increasing, but the proceeds have stayed relatively the same over the past 16 years. Participation from those benefitting from these AGLC proceeds is ever decreasing and that creates a risk of Darts Alberta losing our casino privileges. Team member volunteers, or someone working on their behalf, was at an all time low at the 2025 Casino.

In an attempt to mitigate this risk, the Board of Directors has approved a Team Alberta Committee Fee increase, effective immediately:

YOUTH MEMBERS: $400.00 commitment fee upfront and $200.00 refunded once a representative (player, parent, etc.) works on their behalf at the next casino. We tried to reduce the youth team costs by reducing the number of rooms required and unfortunately that met with opposition. We have always tried to keep the youth costs as low as possible, but since the youth and adult per person expenses are relatively the same, the Board felt the need to increase the youth commitment fee to the same as what the adults have paid in the past.

ADULT MEMBERS: $600.00 commitment fee upfront and $400.00 refunded once you or a representative works the next casino on your behalf. If you or someone else works on your behalf, this will work out to the same thing you paid previously.

CASINO VOLUNTEERS: If a team member is not available to volunteer, it will be up to that team members to find someone to work on their behalf and to notify the Casino Coordinator (DA First Vice) in advance of the casino. If a team member has made the team in both years, they will receive the refund for both years by working only one shift. However, if two members from the same family both make the team, one shift is required per team member. Casino volunteers that reside more than 100 km away from the casino receive mileage and shared accommodations.
