DA Member League Championship Program
The Member League Championship Program is one of several programs offered exclusively to Darts Alberta Member Leagues. The objective of the program is to offer a team-event atmosphere, at a relatively equitable calibre of competition, focused on camaraderie and the competitive spirit.
We recognize that many changes have occurred to this program over the past several years based on trying to get the program designed to maximize participation. Originally, the qualifier playoffs were hosted by the leagues and this was eliminated a few years ago as we recognize our member leagues have enough to do at their own league level. Players now enter directly into the Provincial Championship.
This event is held the day prior to the DA Annual General Meeting and AGM Shoot, typically in the same venue.
Significant changes for 2012:
-
The events now consist of Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles.
-
There are no spares permitted.
-
There is no pre-registration required. Team register the morning of the event.
-
The Chicago style format has been eliminated and all matches will be 501 straight in, double out.
-
Although ALL participants must be members of a Darts Alberta Member League, you and your partner do not have to be members of the same member league.
-
No two elite players can be on the same doubles team. A link to the elite player list will be included on the tournament poster.
-
In order to budget more effectively and to have a most equitable prize package, the winning teams now receive a trip to the next Greater Vancouver Open rather than the Canadian Open which is held in a different province each year.
-
With the men's event now being doubles, the elite list has changed to include the top 32 ranked players as of April 30, 2011. All other elite status criteria remain the same.
-
The format shall consist of a combination of singles and doubles matches. The exact number of games and matches shall be at the discretion of the Tournament Director based on the number of teams registered.
Men’s Elite List Criteria:
-
Top 32 on the DA Ranking List as of the previous April 30th Official Ranking List.
-
Top 32 on the NDFC Ranking List as of the previous May 1st Official Ranking List.
-

-
