Darts Alberta Board establishes new Mission, Vision and Values
Part of our Alberta Sport funding requirement is to develop a 3 to 5 year Strategic Plan. In simple terms, a Strategic Plan focuses on determining where we currently are, where we want to be and what we need to do different in order to get there.
On September 9, 2012, the DA Board of Directors held a planning workshop to begin this strategic planning process. The first step was to review and modify our Mission (why we exist), our Vision (what we aspire to be) and our Values (what we believe in).
Please take a few minutes to answer a brief three question survey on what you think about the new Mission, Vision and Values (link is at the end of this article).
Our New Mission:
(Is our organization’s purpose; what we do to achieve our vision, who we do it for, how and why we do it.)
Darts Alberta’s mission is to promote the sport of darts to all Albertans by offering recreational and competitive opportunities for all levels of athletes; education for coaches and officials; and recognition for volunteer and athletic achievements.
Our New Vision:
(Is what we want to do and how we want to be viewed in the future; it reflects our mission and values.)
Darts Alberta will be viewed as an organizational leader in sport through proactive continuous improvement of self-sustainable:
Sport programs for dart players of all ages and abilities;
Educational opportunities for dart coaches and officials; and
Recognition programs meaningful to volunteers and athletes.

Darts Alberta members, officials, coaches and volunteers will be guided by these core values:
Integrity by conducting ourselves in a fair, honest, credible, transparent and accountable manner.

Teamwork by forming and supporting collaborative partnerships.
