Congratulations to our own Alberta Player Ken MacNeil!
Members of Darts Alberta dominated the Canadian Open men’s doubles event with 3 out of the 4 teams competing in the Men’s Doubles semi-finals and final. It just goes to show how fierce the competition is to make Team Alberta with 4 out of those 6 Albertans being non-team members.

In addition to Team Alberta’s achievements during the Nationals, Alberta members also represented our province well during the subsidiary events. Kenny MacNeil will team up with Jerry Hull (QC), Kim Whaley-Hilts (ON) and Brenda Moreau (NT) to represent Team Canada at the 2008 Americas Cup in Trinidad next month.

Family Legacy in Darts - As most of us are able to relate to, a legacy is not unfamiliar in every day life. What truly varies would be what the legacy is. For some it may be a family heirloom, an old book or even something from genealogy.

But how many of us can claim a legacy being passed down from one generation to another based on a sport? Not too many of us, especially if the sport is darts! And no one that I know of can stake a claim to passing this legacy not just from one generation to another, but to a fourth generation!

Brody Chapman: A Tribute to a Champion - What is a champion? We all have our own perception as to what a champion is, or what a champion should be. But, do we really know what a champion is? Well, such a person does exist…his name is Brody Chapman, and he is only 11 years old. Brody resides in Eckville with his mom and dad- Carmen and Jim Chapman. Though many aren’t familiar with Brody, most DA members are familiar with his mom and dad.

Chad McIsaac Youth Player Profile
- It all started when I was younger, watching mom and dad throw darts and seeing how much fun they would have. I remember going to the Ponoka Coke Shoot with my parents and just watching what was going on, it just seemed to interest me. We would go home and I remember asking my mom can we go downstairs and play darts for a while. I could barely hit the board but it was still fun.

Matthew McIsaac Youth Player Profile
- It all started when my brother and I were down stairs fooling around with his darts. Mom grounded us from the dartboard for a while, but it was hard to stay away. Then one day my mom and Steve Kenney, who have been our coaches, came to my brother and me and asked if we would like to join the Central Alberta Youth Dart League. Of course we said yes. They doubted that I would take the game serious and thought that I would soon lose interest because normally I go for more physical sports, such as volleyball. Being ranked as number one for senior boys in Alberta, I think I proved them wrong.
